Derik city is hosting Kurdish Tribes Workshop in North and East Syria.
The workshop is attended by 1,2000 delegates from the tribes of Kîkan, Ezîza, Omerî, Gabar, Şêxan, Deqorî, Beraza, Dazwanî, Hesarî, Keça, Teyî, Omerka, Cobira, Elîka, Mûsa Reşa, Mîra, Batawa, Baweliya, Hisna, Harûna, Mêrsinî, Xêrikan and Gebeka.
Other attendees include members of SDF, YPG, YPJ, MSD, Internal Security Forces, representatives of civil society organizations, Kongreya Star, political parties and Arab tribes representatives.
Organizing Committee member Yûsif Hacî made the opening speech in which he highlighted the goals of the workshop.
Haci said; “We are organizing this workshop for the discussion of some issues such as the Turkish state’s threats, recent developments in political arena and building of a peaceful co-existence among the folks and communities living in the region.”
Yûsif Hacî pointed out that the workshop was organised with the ultimate goal of establishing Kurdish national unity in response to the Turkish invasion state’s threats against North and East Syrian regions.
Opinion Leaders and Tribes Council Co-chairperson Hewas Cideyî then made a speech in the name of North and East Syrian Opinion Leaders Board.
Cideyi pointed out the ongoing fragile process when the threats of Turkey and ISIS against the region continue.
Representatives of many parties are expected to speak at the workshop which will be concluded today after the discussion of several topics.
