In a written statement, the Manbij Military Council (MMC) announced the balance sheet of attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army and its proxy militant groups in the region during the month of July.
The statement published on Thursday includes the following:
“The invading Turkish army and mercenary groups targeted the villages of El Bû Xar, Kûrhiyk, Kawiklî, Qir Wêri, Kûrî, Kawiklî, Qir Wêran, Yanli, Camusiye, Dindeniye, Siyade, Um Edesê, Um Cilûd, Ereb Hesen, Mihselî, Ewn Dadat, Tuxara mezin, Tuxara bicuk, Cat, Hisan and Hoseriye in the north of Manbij.
The invading Turkish army targeted the military bases in the villages located between the positions of the Manbij Military Council and the invading troops.
The Turkish army has military bases in Qîrata, Tuxar, Ereb Hesen bicuk, Yasli, Şêx Nasir, Kerbeclî, Hemra and Girêdiye. 560 artillery attacks hit civilian settlements in July, resulting in financial damage.
The Manbij Military Council responded to the attacks as part of self-defence. 16 fighters of the “Euphrates Shield” mercenary group were killed. Five other mercenaries were injured, and five infiltration attempts were blocked. One DShK-mounted military vehicle, two grenade throwers and one Kalashnikov rifle were seized.
Civil settlements were targeted 13 times by the Turkish army and mercenaries with semi-automatic and heavy weapons during the past month. A child was killed, and four civilians were injured following the attacks. While five houses belonging to civilians were destroyed, the woodland in the village of Dendeniye burned.”
