Migrants from Ghouta who have been settled in Afrin said they want to return to their own lands.
As part of Turkey’s efforts to change the demography of the Afrin territory after its invasion by Turkish troops and allied gangs, a number of people from Ghouta have been settled in the region alongside families of jihadist mercenaries, who are now living in the houses belonging to Afrin residents that fled the city after the occupation.
Migrants from Ghouta staged a march against the occupation forces in Afrin’s Mabata district and highlighted that they want to turn back to their lands.
Banners carried by the demonstrations read “We have been pushed out of our lands, we want to go back to our homes”, “how many times will we be displaced” and “no to displacement”.
