HPG: 3 soldiers killed, one excavator hit

On the western front of the Zap, three Turkish soldiers were shot dead by the HPG and YJA Star guerrillas.

In the Zap region in South Kurdistan, three members of the Turkish occupation forces were killed by snipers from the People's Defense Forces (HPG) and Free Women’s Units (YJA Star). The HPG press office said in a statement on Friday that the operations took place on Tuesday and Thursday in the Girê Bahar resistance area.

According to HPG, an excavator that was being used to clear forests for the construction of a new military road was also damaged. The army then stopped working. In nearby Girê Cûdî, the guerrillas also successfully intervened on Thursday against an attempted advance on the tunnel systems there. The Turkish occupiers subsequently withdrew somewhat.

Attacks by the Turkish army

The HPG further reported that the attacks by the Turkish army on the territory of South Kurdistan continue unabated. In Girê FM, in the Zap region, the HPG recorded three attacks with banned weapons since 12 November. During the same period, according to the guerrillas, nineteen air strikes by fighter jets were recorded against locations in the Xakurke, Gare and Metîna regions. Another 25 air attacks were carried out by Turkish combat helicopters in Zap and Metîna.
