The invading Turkish state, which seeks an opportunity to launch invasion attacks on North and East Syria, announced dialogue with the Damascus government after the Sochi summit. Immediately after Turkey’s announcement, demonstrations were held in several regions such as Idlib, Azaz and Mare that remain under Turkish occupation.
According to an exclusive report published by Lekolin.org, the Turkish MIT stepped into action after the demonstrations and held a meeting with mercenary groups in the occupied Azaz. MIT officials are said to have ordered some mercenary groups to prepare to move to Saudi Arabia. In a second meeting with Turkmen mercenary groups, Turkey introduced another plan for resettlement in the areas to be evacuated.
According to the report, a meeting was held on August 11 in the Azaz region between the MIT officials on the ground and leaders of the Jabhat al-Shamiya group. The MIT, which has lost its control over the mercenary groups in the occupied regions, asked the mercenaries to make preparations to be relocated to Saudi Arabia and then to Yemen.
MIT THREATENED TO CUT FUNDS OF MERCENARY GROUPS
The report stated that mercenary leaders attending the meeting opposed to the MIT plan to relocate their fighters to Saudi Arabia and laid the “capture of Til Rifet first” as a condition for the realization of the plan.
The MIT, in response, threatened to cut the funds of mercenary leaders, to take back the points controlled by them and to withdraw mercenaries from the battlefronts if they disagree with the plan.
PLAN TO RESETTLE TURKMEN MERCENARIES IN REGION
It is reported that the MIT held a secret meeting with Turkmen mercenary groups in the El Rai region of Azaz three days after the meeting in Azaz. MIT officials reportedly instructed Turkmen mercenary leaders to establish a Turkmen Assembly to operate in the Afrin, Azaz and Al Rai regions.
