Refugees from Deir ez-Zor sheltered in the Sed Camp in Hesekê are returning home. The second group has set off today.
Displaced people from Deir ez-Zor who were freed by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and settled in the Sed Camp in Erişa town, 30 km south of Hesekê, are returning to their villages that have been liberated and cleared of mines, again by SDF in Operation Cizire Storm.
With joint efforts of SDF General Affairs Bureau and Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, the first group of refugees had left for Abu Khasab, Kasra, Suwar, Birsera, Jawhar, Jazrat, Shihel and Diban areas east of Euphrates on December 3rd.
After days of preparations, the second group of 1100 people has left the camp today with the support of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council and Sed Camp Administration. The group left for their home in the towns of Dîban, Sebha, Siwer and Teyana east of Deir ez-Zor.
Sed Camp Administration Member Enes Umer stated that more than 50 thousand people are sheltered in the camp and more people from Deir ez-Zor are returning home recently.
