More refugees in Hol Camp returned to their cities

With the decree issued on May 23, the Autonomous Administration started work for the return of the refugees who remained in the camps in northern and eastern Syria and who were not involved with ISIS.

Since 3 June, 350 families have returned to their homes from the Hol Camp. This means that some 1136 people. 397 people returned to Deir Ezzor, 127 to Manbij and 612 to Tebqa and Raqqa.

As a result of the Autonomous Administration's investigations, 36 people, including children, women and elderly, returned to their homes in Raqqa and Tebqa. Thus, the number of those who returned home from the camp was a final 1172 people.

Hemrîn Hesen, Hol Camp executive, said that the joint efforts of the Autonomous Administration and tribal representatives are continuing to ensure the return of those staying in the camp to their homes. “Despite all difficulties - Hesen said - we are working to ensure the return to more people to their homes.”

The Hol Camp, located east of Hesekê, hosts 71,000 people, including Syrian and Iraqi refugees and the families of ISIS mercenaries. 

Hol Camp, which is the largest camp in northern and eastern Syria, is under the supervision of the Autonomous Administration with the support of international institutions and regional cooperatives.
