The invading Turkish army and their allied ISIS, Al-Nusra and Al Qaeda gangs are attempting to invade Afrin, where the Resistance of the Age by YPG/YPJ and the people of Afrin continues on day 40.
The people of Afrin respond to Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan’s attempts to legitimize the invasion by saying they “will take Afrin to give it to the people of Afrin”: We are Afrin, we are the people of Afrin, the people who resist are our children.
When the invasion operation started, one of the plans of the Turkish state was for some individuals from Afrin going to the tents the Turkish state set up at the border, the Turkish state was to legitimize the invasion over that. But the people of Afrin chose to resist, from the youngest to the eldest.
Mothers from Afrin cook for their children in the fronts daily, and grow the resistance behind the frontlines. In the Meydankê town in the Shera district, the mothers gather every day in early morning hours to cook twice a day for their children in the fronts.
Mother Emine has one child in the fronts. She says she is the owner of the land, and she won’t abandon it to the Turkish state: “Who are the people in the fronts? They are my brothers, sisters and children. And we stand by them to the end. Because these lands are ours, and we won’t abandon them to the Turks.”
Mother Emine says Turks have no right in Afrin: “They bomb us every day. But they should remember that even if they bring the whole world down on us, we are here and we are not going anywhere.”
Mother Vesile has one child in the YPJ and another in the YPG. She says Erdoğan has nothing to take from Afrin: “Everybody should know that we will not abandon these lands. We were born here, and we will be here until we shed the last drop of our blood. We will prevail.”
