The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) released a statement about the ongoing attacks by the Turkish state and gang groups against Afrin Canton of Northern Syria.

The statement of the MSD said the following:

"The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have mounted unparalleled resistance to the invasion attacks of the Turkish state against Afrin. The will of the revolutionaries in the resistance is stronger than all the weapons of the occupiers.

Erdoğan wants to commit a massacre against the peoples of the region on the basis of baseless excuses, to occupy all of northern Syria, Idlib, Aleppo, Mosul, and Kirkuk and to revive the Ottoman occupation. But Erdoğan will never achieve those goals.

To protect the civilian population and enable the forces of the YPG and YPJ to develop their defense strategy, around one million civilians have been evacuated from the city.

As MSD, we strongly condemn the cruel attacks on the people of Afrin. The practices of the Turkish state go against all international laws and human values. But the international community can still be silent about these practices.

We will enhance our resistance to the attacks of the Turkish state, cleanse the region of the occupiers and enable the return of the population to their homes. The new phase of Afrin’s resistance will bring Erdoğan's end.”
