New coronavirus cases in North and East Syria prompt new preventive measures

North and East Syria Health Committee announced 181 new coronavirus cases, as well as 3 deaths, in North and East Syria, on Tuesday, prompting authorities to take new precautions.

Dr Ciwan Mistefa, co-chair of North and East Syria Health Committee, announced 181 new coronavirus cases in North and East Syria, and said that 2 women (in Qamishlo and Raqqa) and a man in Deir ez-Zor lost their lives.

100 of the new Covid-19 patients are men and 81 women. 7 people have recovered, said Dr Ciwan Mistefa, who added that this new figures prompted the authorities to take new preventive measures.
According to the latest information, 23,285 people tested positive to coronavirus and 812 of them lost their lives while 2,026 recovered.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria Executive Council, within the scope of coronavirus measures, prohibited gathering in crowded groups in public spaces. Also, the health committee banned activities such as weddings, funerals, meetings and marches.
