Northern Syrian Administration rejects the Sochi resolutions

Northern Syrian Democratic Autonomous Administration Coordination rejected the resolutions of the Sochi meetings on Syria.

Northern Syrian Democratic Autonomous Administration Coordination issued a written statement on the Sochi congress and said the Congress paved the way for more fighting instead of a political solution.

The Autonomous Administration Coordination stated that the guarantor states agreed on the invasion of Syria as the Sochi congress was in progress and that this is deepening the crisis and leading the way for a new war in Syria.

The statement includes the following:

“They have abandoned all promises they made for a solution. Russia constantly said the Kurds need to be part of the negotiations, but now we see that Russia is following the same erroneous strategy of ignoring the Northern Syrian political administration and forcing Northern Syrian constituents reverse their decisions or face the circumstances in which the Turkish state is entering Afrin.

We state that the people from Northern Syria who participated in the Sochi Congress only did so on their own behalf and don’t have social or political influence in the region to implement the congress resolutions.

The congress participants did not recallTurkey’s attacks on Afrin and the massacres against civilians and immigrants. This shows that this congress will remain fruitless like the previous ones, will not fulfill the Syrian people’s expectations, and on the contrary satisfy the expectations of countries outside of Syria. That is why we say Sochi is a ground for political investment, not a solution.

As the political administration, we reiterate that the outcome of meetings we didn’t participate in don’t interest us. We state that meetings that aren’t based on an honest and democratic line will not bear results. They do not want the Northern Syrian constituents to be an active and legitimate force in the field.

We are calling on all forces acting for the Syrian crisis to have a serious stance. And we are calling for a stop to the Turkish state attacks. We state that military methods only work to deepen the crisis.”
