Two litte sisters were seriously injured in an explosion that took place near Serêkaniyê Square in Dirbêsiyê district of Hesekê on Friday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported that two sisters, Zilan Xesan (6) and Leylan (2) were injured following the explosion of an object while they were playing in front of their home near their father's vehicle.

The girls were taken to a hospital in Qamishlo where Zilan lost her life despite all medical efforts. Her sister’s treatment continues.
