Raqqa Internal Security Forces held a press conference about the operation carried out against ISIS in Raqqa city.

Speaking here, Internal Security Forces Spokesman Muhamed Ibrahim said the following:

“Special forces HAT and expert anti-mines teams carried out an effective operation against the plans of a sleeper cell of ISIS at 10 am on September 29.

The operation targeted two houses established to be at the service of terrorists on Basil Street near Diriya neighborhood. Special forces and Internal Security Forces conducted an operation on both houses, which resulted in clashes. Two terrorists were killed and 5 others captured in the wake of the fighting.

During following searches, a number of arms and mines were discovered, while expert teams defused mines and all arms were seized.

A bomb-laden vehicle to be used in an attack and a motorcycle used in a previous bomb attack were also discovered.”
