Dozens of opinion leaders, religious scholars and residents of Til Temir made a statement against the ongoing invasion attacks of the Turkish army.
The Turkish forces have been carrying out massive attacks against Til Temir and Zirgan towns since the beginning of the week. At least 4 local people lost their lives during the invasion attacks which directly targeted civilians.
Mihemed Tahir, the Omera tribe sheikh, read out the statement and said, “Addressing the International Coalition, Russia, the United Nations Security Council, human rights and legal organizations, we would like to state that we, as the opinion leaders of the Cizre Region and its residents, condemn the crimes against humanity. The ongoing Turkish attacks, carried out in defiance of the ceasefire agreement, are cruelty, occupation, terrorism.”
The statement continued, “The Turkish state wants to spread fear among the population through its attacks. However, the peoples of north-eastern Syria will not abandon their land and will continue to defend their territories. We urge the international forces and the guarantor states to put an end to the Turkish attacks which target civilians. We also state that the regions that have become the hotbed of terrorist activities should be returned to their real owners.”
