The people of Serêkaniyê, who were forced to leave their lands because of the invasion attacks against North-East Syria by the Turkish state and its mercenaries, struggle for survival under difficult conditions.
The people say they will not accept the occupation and ask for the conditions to return to their lands to be established.
Tens of thousands of people were forced to leave and went from Serêkaniyê to Hesekê due to Turkish occupation attacks. Now they struggle having to settle in schools in the city.
‘ARMENIAN BROTHERS OPENED THE DOORS’
Mihemed Hemed, who had to flee Serêkaniyê because of the attacks, said: "When the attacks started, we went to the town of Zirgan. Then we went to Til Temir because the war intensified, and from there we had to come to Hesekê. We've been displaced because of the attacks. When we came to Hesekê, our Armenian brothers opened their doors to us."
‘UNITY AND WE HAVE TO STOP THE ATTACKS’
Hemed said that the occupation attacks will be defeated only through unity and solidarity and added: "We must unite and resist the attacks. The Kurds in Kurdistan and Europe should stand up and protest together these attacks. We must establish the Kurdish national unity."
THE TURKISH STATE IS ATTACKING KURDISH IDENTITY
Hemed recalled that civilians were massacred every day as a result of the attacks carried out by the Turkish state and added: "The situation is getting worse. The international community should stand against this situation. The Turkish state is attacking Kurdish identity. They want to massacre Kurds. They want to slaughter Kurdish, Armenian and Christian. We must stop these attacks now. We want to go back to our lands."
‘OUR SOIL AND OUR PROPERTY WERE OCCUPIED’
Ehmed Mihemed Seyid said their lands were occupied and their property was plundered. "We are staying in schools."
Pointing out that the United States are behind the attacks of the Turkish state, Ehmed Mihemed said: "America made several reconnaissance flights in the region. They organized patrols with the Turkish state. After that, the attacks came. America too is responsible for this occupation. America has partnered with these attacks."
WE CAN'T EVEN MEET OUR BASIC NEEDS
Semîre Mihemed said that they had to leave their homes and now live in schools in Hesekê together with tens of families in the same situation. "Some 50 families stay in a school. We can't even meet our basic needs. We can't take care of our kids. We live in a room with so many people and things. Conditions are very hard."
Mihemed said that the attacks should be condemned and stopped. "Before the attacks we had land and property, now we are living like in a prison here."
