In several cities in northern Syria, people have taken to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the Turkish invasion of the guerrilla area of Gare in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.

In Dêrik, the Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women's Association called on the population to rise up. The activists gathered at Azadî Square and chanted "No to the occupation as they commended the resistance of the guerrillas in Gare and condemned the invasion, which is against international law.

At the final rally in the Martyrs’ Square, Çekdar Amed delivered a speech on behalf of the two youth organizations and stated that a mobilization is taking place to defend the Medya Defense Zones. Afterwards, Xalsa Abdullah took the floor on behalf of the Mothers of Martyrs and said, "We bless the resistance of the HPG. We condemn the attacks of the Turkish state on Kurdistan and its mountains. We salute the selflessness of the youth in the face of the murderous plans against our people. And we promise that we will follow their path."

Other protest actions took place in Girkê Legê, Kobanê, Amûdê, Qamishlo and Manbij.
