People of Afrin and Shehba mobilize as attacks continue
Turkish army’s attacks against Efrin are ongoing and military deployment to the border continues. People of Afrin and Shehba are mobilizing and resisting against invasion attempts.
Turkish troops continued to conduct artillery attacks on Afrin after Turkish National Security Council repeated threats against Northern Syria on Wednesday amid Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s agenda to invade Afrin.
EUPHRATES SHIELD GANGS IN ACTION
As villages of Afrin are targeted by uninterrupted artillery attacks from Idlib during the past three days, Turkish army is deploying tanks and armored vehicles to the border. Turkish backed Euphrates Shield gangs have also engaged in the invasion attempt and carried out attacks on the positions of Manbij Military Council fighters in the village of al-Mehesnlî northwest of Manbij.
Euphrates Shield gangs positioned in Azaz region have conducted howitzer attacks on the villages of Beyloniya, Malikiye, Eyn Deqne and Kefer Cane in Afrin’s Shera district. The attacks reportedly resulted in material damage.
ATTACKS CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT
Turkish troops hit the districts of Shera and Sherawa with katyusha missiles starting from 22:30 last night. Attacks continued after the midnight as well.
Surroundings of Shiye district’s Merwaniye village and Sherawa district’s Gırzile village were targeted by artillery and katyusha missiles from Turkish Siciye border post at 00:30 last night.
Simultaneously with the attacks from border outposts, Turkish units and Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham gangs situated in Idlib as well as Turkish troops and affiliated gangs deployed on Afrin border attacked Jalama village of Sherawa with mortars from Semane Fortress.
DEPLOYMENT TO JARABLUS
According to local sources, Turkish army deployed over 50 vehicles, including tanks and armored vehicles, to Jarablus at 24:00 last night.
PEOPLE OUT ON THE STREETS IN THE FACE OF ATTACKS
Reactions are growing against the Turkish state’s attacks and invasion threats against Afrin. People are rushing to Civil Defense Forces (HPC), People’s/Women’s Defense Units (YPG/YPJ) and Volunteer Defense Units (YPC) in a manner of mobilization against invasion. Peoples are taking to the streets in masses across Rojava and various territories of Syria to protest against Turkish attacks.
Thousands in Shehba and liberated neighborhoods of Aleppo protested Turkish attacks yesterday and vowed that “We will triumph in Afrin and Shehba just like we did in Kobane and Raqqa”.
