Young Women’s Union organised a demonstration in Amude, northern Syria, in protest at the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Dozens of young women, members of women’s organization Kongreya Star and civil society representatives joined the protest march behind a banner that read “We will smash the isolation in the spirit of revolutionary youth”.
Chanting slogans praising the Kurdish leader and his resistance, demonstrators marched from the Free Woman Square to the Martyr Cihad Square where a rally followed.
Speaking after a minute’s silence, Ahîn Şerîf of Kongreya Star said the following; “We condemn the isolation on Leader Öcalan. We will resist to the very end in response to the aggravated isolation which in fact targets all the Kurdish people. We will enhance our struggle.”
The demonstration ended with the slogan “Resistance is Life”.
