People of Shaddadi protest against Turkish attacks

Hundreds of local people from the southern districts of Hesekê Canton, north-eastern Syria marched to protest the Turkish occupation attacks.

Hundreds of people from the southern districts of Hesekê Canton gathered in Shaddadi to protest the Turkish military attacks against north-eastern Syria.

The local people who gathered in the district square marched to the Leader Öcalan Square. The activists displayed banners condemning the attacks of the Turkish army and its mercenaries, posters of Öcalan, and SDF flags.

'INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SHOULD TAKE A STAND'

Speaking during the rally that followed the march, Ela El Salum, the co-chair of the Shaddadi Martyrs' Families Council, condemned the Turkish attacks against citizens in Kobane, Til Temir and Zirgan.

Ela El Salum stressed that the Turkish attacks cannot weaken the freedom struggle.

Shaddadi Women's House member Umeye El Werdi condemned the silence of the international community towards the crimes of the Turkish army and its mercenaries against north-eastern Syria and urged the human rights organizations and international community to take a serious stance against the attacks and put pressure on the Turkish state and stop the crimes committed by the Turkish army.

Ehmed al-Assad, a member of the Shaddadi Religious Administration, stated that the aim of the attacks is to weaken the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
