The Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM) and the Democratic Autonomous Administration are organizing popular meetings in Northern Syria / Rojava to discuss the current situation in the region. Dozens of residents attended the first meeting in Çelebi district in the canton of Kobanê.
The meeting began with a minute's silence for the fallen. Afterwards, Ayhan Zana from the board of the TEV-DEM gave a speech. Zana said the Rojava revolution is subject to widespread attack and psychological warfare under the leadership of the Turkish state and due to the silence of the international community. He stressed that the resistance of the civil administration and the military forces will continue until the complete liberation of northern Syria and especially Afrin from the occupation, and these forces will keep the fight going for a peaceful solution to the Syrian war.
Speaking after, Bêrîvan Hesen from the General Coordination of the Euphrates region pointed out the important steps taken in political, military and social aspects in Rojava.
"Our work continues on the basis of peoples' brotherhood and coexistence. The created system is not based on the interests of personalities", said Hesen.
