PYD and Kevana Zêrîn condemn conspiracy against Öcalan

The PYD said that the conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan targeted all the peoples of the Middle East. The Kevana Zêrîn Women's Culture Movement vowed to “remove the isolation and liberate our leader.”

The General Assembly of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) released a statement to mark the 23rd anniversary of the international conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan that resulted in his abduction from Kenya to Turkey in 1999.

“The February 15 conspiracy in 1999 against Öcalan targeted not only the Kurdish people, but all the peoples of the Middle East. The conspiratorial forces wanted to turn him into a robot so that he would serve the capitalist system,” the statement said.

'COMMITMENT TO ÖCALAN IS A HUMAN DUTY'

The PYD statement noted that in his defence submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), Abdullah Öcalan developed solutions for the Kurdish and Middle Eastern peoples through the Democratic Nation Paradigm, which made the colonial powers uncomfortable, since Öcalan eliminated the problems between peoples.

“We are committed to Öcalan's freedom. Our commitment to his freedom of thought and philosophy is our duty to humanity. If we want freedom, democracy and peace for the peoples, we must ensure the freedom of Öcalan who introduced these projects of great importance for the peoples of the Middle East and humanity. We urge democratic forces and human rights institutions to embrace the values promoted by Öcalan. His freedom is the freedom of the Kurdish people and the freedom of the peoples of the Middle East.”

KEVANA ZÊRİN: WE WILL FOLLOW IN OUR LEADER’S FOOTSTEPS

In a statement condemning the February 15 conspiracy, the Kevana Zêrîn Women's Cultural Movement in North and East Syria said, “We will follow in our leader’s footsteps and will break the isolation imposed on him through our cultural and artistic activities and liberate our leader.”

“Although the conspiracy against Öcalan was planned to leave the peoples without a leader and to shatter and weaken the will of the peoples, his intellectual and resistance spirit has frustrated the international conspiracy.

The perspectives developed by Öcalan have represented the will of peoples and revived the cultures that had been on the verge of destruction. Nation-states that did not achieve their goal through the conspiracy are now coming together and implementing an unprecedented isolation and torture against Öcalan.

The resistance of our leader strengthens us and shows us more clearly that we need to be inspired by his perspectives. It offers us a roadmap of resistance for the peoples who are subjected to genocide. The will of the peoples will not be hindered by isolation and torture.

We, who carry out women's cultural activities, declare that we will follow in our leader’s footsteps and that we will remove the isolation on him through our cultural-artistic activities and liberate our leader. As the Kevana Zêrîn Women's Cultural Movement which we have organized in North and East Syria, we condemn the international conspiracy, and we state that we will not stop until we liberate our leader physically.”
