Hundreds of people participated in a march that started in front of the Kongreya Star’s headquarter in Tirbepsiyê district of the Qamishlo canton on Monday. Banners saying "Shengal massacre cannot be forgotten" were carried during the march.

During the march, Xaliye Eyub and Hisen Sade made speeches representing Kongreya Star and the District Sheiks Council respectively.

In the speeches, it was stated that the agreement between the Iraqi government and the KDP is a continuation of the conspiracies against the will of the Yazidi community. The speakers called on international community to protect the Yazidi community from genocide and not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

At the end of the march, the resistance of the YBŞ was commended.

GIRKÊ LEGÊ

Hundreds of people in Girkê Legê took to the streets in the district center and protested the conspiracy against the Yazidi people living in Shengal.

People carrying YPG and YPJ flags protested the Shengal agreement.

The march that started from Martyr Xebat Square turned into a rally where PYD Girkê Legê administrator İdris Ehmed addressed the crowd and said the following:

"The KDP betrayed the people of Shengal in 2014 and left the people face to face with ISIS gangs. ISIS carried out a massacre against the people with inhuman attacks. Thanks to the HPG, Shengal was liberated from ISIS and the people established their own autonomous administration.

The Iraqi government and the KDP made an agreement to eliminate the achievements of the people. We address to the people of Shengal; We stand by them, we will not allow what happened in 2014 to be repeated by supporting them."
