Thousands of people from the Cizire region gathered in the Martyr Xebat Square on the call by the Qamishlo Canton Council and Kongreya Star to protest the invasion attacks by the Turkish state against Afrin and Southern Kurdistan (Bashur).
There were banners that read, “Smash Turkish invasions with spirit of Sheladize” and “From Afrin to Bradost no Turkish state invasions” and chanted “no to invasions” frequently.
Kongreya Star Administrator Semer Abdullah spoke in the protest and said the Turkish state’s invasion attacks target the very existence of the Kurdish people, calling on the peoples of Kurdistan to resist the Turkish state attacks.
Cizire Regional Council Executive Assembly Co-chair Telhet Yunis commemorated the Kobane massacre martyrs and said: “The Turkish state targeted the will of the people who demand peace and freedom and has been attacking the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria with everything they have."
Yunis protested the international public’s silence in the face of the Turkish state attacks and called for the unity of the Kurdish people against the invasion.
The protest concluded with slogans.
