In an interview with Raziye Ibrahim, the co-chair of the Hesekê Municipal Committee, Women Defend Rojava spoke about an ecological perspective on the current situation in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
Women Defend Rojava asked Ibrahim how does the virus affect nature and what measures does the committee takes, also in terms of ecological aspects and the environment?
Raziye Ibrahim underlined how people have drastically reduced going out following the measures indicated by the Autonomous Administration to counter the coronavirus pandemic and added that these meant also that a lot of activities stopped. This allowed nature, Ibrahim said, to take a breath.
