Despite the lockdown declared by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria on April 6, there has been an increase in coronavirus cases. Increasing cases seriously threaten the refugees in the region.

The immigrants who left their lands and settled in the Miseb Bin Umeyir school in Til Temir (Tal Tamr) due to the attacks of the Turkish state and its gangs stated that they could not even meet their daily needs amid the recent coronavirus surge.

'NO AID AT ALL'

Nura Hezam said 40 families live in the school and told the following: “International organizations do not help us. They send a small number of things to the camps but nothing is delivered to us at all. International organizations only talk about cleanliness and precautions. They cannot go beyond theoretical explanations. They take pictures of their own activities and leave. In practice, they do not provide any help. They do everything for their own benefits. International organizations have hung a banner which explains coronavirus measures at the school. However, they do not deliver cleaning materials and disinfection. When they come to us, they want us to praise them.”

'THEY ONLY HANG BANNERS'

Meryem Şêx Salih stated that they could not find any cleaning materials. “We have neither cleaning materials nor any medical drugs to fight coronavirus. Neither international organizations nor doctors are listening to our demands. All they do is to hang a banner on the school wall that reads 'Your life is our responsibility'. They don't do anything other than that. If our life were important to them, they would at least provide cleaning materials," she said.
