Tabqa Democratic Civilian Administration Education Committee launched efforts to repair damaged school buildings and infrastructure around them as part of the 3rd year planning.
Tabqa Democratic Civilian Administration Education Committee started to implement the planning for the 2019-2020 year. The committee is repairing 10 school buildings in Tabqa city center and districts that were damaged by ISIS gangs.
Tabqa Education Committee oversees a total of 149 schools, 49 in Tabqa, 38 in Mansura and 110 in Al Jirniya. The committee said there are 13 damaged schools, and the 10 to be repaired are: Jalam Abdulnasir, Ibn Al Nafs, Al Muhdasa Girls Schools and Izdin Al Qasam in Tabqa city center, Al Mazraa Al Shamaliya, Al Xifiye Al Shamaliye and Al Barude to the east of the city, Al Mahmudli and Al Maznuye Al Jirniya to the northwest of the city.
Education Committee Co-chair Henano Xelife said the repairs will bring the schools in the city center back to their normal capacity and added: “Because there is a high number of students, in some schools 3rd graders alternate between mornings and afternoons. This was a temporary solution and with the repairs completed, they won’t have to anymore.”
The committee is to paint walls in 10 schools and renew doors, windows, blackboards and chairs in all classes as part of the repairs.
The Education Committee also prepared 10 education centers in Tabqa and northwestern villages to train teachers for the new term. 500 teachers will receive training in the program to begin next month.
There are a total of 47.000 elementary, middle and high school students in Tabqa.
