Residents of Hesekê’s Xiwêran and Zihûr neighborhoods have started returning to their homes after displacement due to the ISIS attacks launched on January 20.
Thousands of people were displaced from the Xiwêran and Zihûr neighborhoods of Hesekê after ISIS gangs attacked the Sinaa prison on January 20.
While the needs of the displaced residents were met by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, people are returning after the combing operations successfully conducted by the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Checkpoints have been set up for security reasons at the entrance points of both neighborhoods. The residents turn back to their normal lives after passing through the security checkpoints.
In the meantime, heavy measures have been taken to make sure that ISIS mercenaries do not infiltrate the neighborhoods.
