Girê Spî Canton Military Council Co-President Riyad Xelef held a press conference in Ain Issa on Saturday and announced increasingly ongoing attacks by the Turkish state and allied mercenaries against the district.
Turkey’s aim is to depopulate the region, said Xelef, according to whom Turkey is implementing a concept of aggression in an effort to resettle Syrian refugees and change the demography of the occupied territories.
Remarking that the Turkish state has increased its brutal attacks against civilian settlements, Xelef noted that Turkey’s primary goal is to forcibly displace the local people.
A recent attack on the hamlet of Qirtac, 5 km south of Ain Issa centre, left 5 civilians injured, including a mother and her four children.
Pointing to Turkey’s violent attacks against the local people, Xelef stated that these attacks aim to depopulate and invade the region as a whole.
Appealing to the people of Ain Issa, Riyad El-Xelef said, “Your military forces will protect you against foreign attacks. They will not allow the invaders to make further advances and occupy more territories.”
El-Xelef vowed that the fight would continue until Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) and Afrin are liberated.
