Member of the Future Syria Party and an adviser in Deir ez-Zor Civil Administration, Zanar Afrin, was shot by masked mercenaries while travelling in a civilian car on the road between Deir ez-Zor and Heseke on April 16. As a result of the attack, Zinar was martyred along with his escort.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that SDF’s counter-terrorism units were able to arrest the criminals on May 31 after a thorough tracing and searching of their movement in the area and depending on crime evidence.

According to the initial investigations, the criminals confessed to the crime and several other crimes, in addition to their involvement in several operations, including kidnapping, threatening stability, and security of the region.

SDF Media Center said they will subsequently publish a video about the criminals’ full confessions.
