SDF dismantles an ISIS cell in Raqqa

Operation Retaliation for Raqqa Martyrs continues to achieve more firm results against the ISIS terrorist cells.
Within the framework of Operation Retaliation for Raqqa Martyrs launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the participation of the Internal Security Forces and the International Coalition, the joint forces raided the hideouts of ISIS cells in Raqqa city, arresting two ISIS terrorists who facilitated ISIS terrorist acts and concealed one of the terrorists who attacked the center of the Internal Security Forces in the al-Dariyah neighborhood last month, which caused the martyrdom of six ISF and SDF fighters.
The two arrested terrorists, Ahmed Eid al-Abed and Kasir Idan al-Abed, joined ISIS in 2016 and swore allegiance again late last year.
“They confessed to their involvement in attempting to conceal and rescue the wounded ISIS terrorist who attacked the ISF center. They were in direct contact with the Wali (governor) of the so-called Wilayah al-Raqqa,” said the SDF Media Center.
This operation comes one day after the joint forces succeeded in arresting the Wali (governor) of the so-called Wilayah (province) al-Raqqa, who was in charge of leading the ISIS cells, including the so-called “Khalid bin Al-Walid Battalion” which was responsible for the terrorist attack on the center of the Internal Security Forces in the al-Dariyah neighborhood on December 26.
