SDF MARTYRS

Two fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were killed in Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday while clearing mines. The booby traps left behind by the "Islamic State" still pose a major threat to the population in the formerly occupied areas. According to the SDF, special teams have been formed to defuse the mines laid in houses and on agricultural land. During the dismantling of a booby trap, a detonation occurred on March 12, in which SDF fighters Şêro Kobanê (Ibrahim Hesen Bozo) and Rohat Hesekê (Silêman Xelef) lost their lives.  Rohat Hesekê was laid to rest in the Amûdê district of Qamishlo yesterday.

Şêro Kobanê was buried today at the Şehîd Dîcle Cemetery of Martyrs at his birthplace, Kobanê. Hundreds of people from the Euphrates canton attended the funeral. Mihemed Hisê from the Council of Martyrs’ Families said in a speech that the fight of the martyrs continues. Zana Qehro, a member of the Kobanê Military Council, spoke about the life and struggle of Şêro Kobanê. Born in 1996, the fighter defended his country and the people without reservation in very difficult times. "For him, resistance against the enemy was the only possible way. We will continue this resistance and avenge our martyrs."

After the reading of the death certificate, the body of Şêro Kobanê was buried. The participants then drove to the village of Qasimiye, where a tent was set up to receive condolence visits.
