SDF General Command pays tribute to martyrs of Manbij Military Council

The SDF General Command issued a statement to pay tribute to the "martyrs of Manbij Military Council and the heroic people of Manbij."

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Command released a statement to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Manbij Military Council who fell as the result of an attack by the Turkish state.

The statement said: "Once more, adding to their extensive history of displaying valor and heroism, the fighters and commanders of the Manbij Military Council have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment and indomitable spirit in safeguarding the land and its people against occupying forces and terrorism, no matter the sacrifices required. Their unwavering dedication and fierce determination serve as a testament to their genuine connection with the land and their relentless pursuit of protecting the community."

The statement continued: "On Tuesday, as an extension of their barbaric acts and terrorism, the Turkish occupation ruthlessly launched a heavy artillery assault on the secure villages of Manbij. The shelling resulted in injuring two children while they were assisting their families in harvesting the agricultural crop. In response, a group of fighters from the Manbij Military Council bravely intervened, undertaking a heroic and courageous mission to rescue the two wounded children and swiftly transport them to the hospital.

However, the occupation forces, known for their consistent violations of international humanitarian law, resorted to a treacherous act by deliberately targeting the paramedic fighters. This cowardly act resulted in the martyrdom of four fighters and the injury of two others."

The General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces "extend our heartfelt condolences to our people, as well as the families and comrades of the martyrs. We offer our sincere congratulations to the leaders and fighters of the Manbij Military Council and the peoples of the region for the unwavering and heroic stance demonstrated by these brave fighters in rescuing the wounded children.

We have complete confidence that the peoples of the region, along with its rich history, will forever cherish and honor the heroic role played by our martyred comrades in the Manbij Military Council. Their selfless acts of saving wounded children and safeguarding the people will remain etched in the collective memory of our people in NE Syria. The unwavering loyalty to their noble sacrifices will continue to guide and shape the steadfast stances held by our people."
