A special unit of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) foiled a car bomb attack by the terrorist militia ISIS in Hesekê on Wednesday. According to the statement by SDF Media Centre, the bomb installed on the vehicle was defused in the nearby village of Dişişa.
The SDF stated that numerous terrorist attacks have already been prevented in Hesekê, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. "The ISIS gangs are undertaking attempted attacks at the same time as the Turkish occupation forces are attacking north-eastern Syria. Our units are ready to repel these attacks and protect our people from all dangers," the SDF said.
The Turkish army has been attacking villages in the town of Zirgan with its mercenary units since Tuesday evening. In the north of Til Temir, attempts were made on Wednesday to capture bases of the Syriac Military Council and the village of Umm al-Keyf. Massive fighting took place in which two Turkish-backed jihadists were killed.
Attacks on Zirgan continued on Wednesday. At least 180 shells hit the villages within two days. There was high property damage. Four civilians were killed and 14 people were injured, including a member of the security forces.
The attacks on villages in the town of Zirgan originate from positions in the Turkish occupied zone. Zirgan is located about thirty kilometres east of the town of Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain), which has been fully occupied since October 2019, and lies on the edge of a connecting road between the 712 and M4 strategic transport routes. It is less than 25 kilometres from Zirgan to Til Temir in the Christian-populated Khabur Valley, which Turkey wants to incorporate into its illegal occupation zone.
