SDF launches investigation into the circumstances of the death of two girls

“Our forces pledge to prosecute the criminals and bring them to justice,” said the SDF regarding the case of two girls who were found dead in Deir ez-Zor last week.

On December 17, the Internal Security Forces of North-East Syria found the bodies of two girls who were shot dead in Deir Ezzor.

As a result, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) initiated a comprehensive investigation to detect the circumstances of the crime and those involved.

“Our forces pledge to prosecute the criminals and bring them to justice, regardless of their motives for that crime which is contrary to society’s public morals and the law of the Autonomous Administration in North-East Syria,” said the SDF General Command in a written statement on Saturday.

Condemning this heinous crime and the perpetrators, the SDF said, “We are fully confident in our people in Deir Ezzor and their cooperation with our forces to identify the criminals and hold them accountable. We also commend their vigilance and call them not to be dragged into the strife that some outlawed groups affiliated with hostile parties are trying to exploit to undermine the security and social peace of the region.”

SDF affirmed that “nobody is above the law when it comes to our people’s safety, civil peace, and the principles of justice in the region.”
