The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) press center issued a statement on the attacks carried out by Turkish occupation forces on Ain Issa. 16 mercenaries were killed in the fighting on Friday. Two SDF fighters fell martyr, a twelve-year-old also lost his life as the result of an attack on a residential area.
The SDF announced: “On March 19, the Turkish occupying army and its proxies carried out a massive attack on the area around Ain Issa and the M4 connecting road. The attacks focused on the villages of Seyda and Mealik. Around 11 am our forces began to respond to the attacks. In the first stage, three mercenaries were killed. In the afternoon, an armoured vehicle carrying 13 jihadists was destroyed as the fighting continued. The number of mercenaries killed has increased to 16.
The massive bombing of Ain Issa and the surrounding area had begun early on Friday morning. A child was killed in attacks on civilian residential areas. Two of our fighters fell as martyrs in the fighting and another was injured. The identity of the fallen will be released at a later date.
The bombing of the region by the occupiers and the fighting between our forces and the mercenaries continue."
