Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out an operation against a sleeper cells of ISIS in Shaddadi region.

According to the statement of SDF Press Office, the operation was carried out by Special Operations Teams on December 30.

The statement said the following: “The sleeper cell neutralized in a successful operation of our units had been established to be preparing to attack civilians with vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices in Qamishlo, Heseke and Derik at the New Year. A terrorist ringleader from Iraq, Furat Siltan Hisên (code name Ebû Mûnzir), was captured alive in the accomplished operation, as well as a terrorist named Ehmed Mihemed el-Ebîd who deployed a bomb-laden vehicle in Qamishlo.”

SDF added that the car-bomb was detonated by their explosive ordnance disposal units.
