SDF Press Center publishes identities of 11 fighters who fell in Deir ez-Zor

The SDF Press Center announced the identities of 11 fighters who fell as martyrs in the "Security Reinforcement Operation" carried out against ISIS mercenaries and drug dealers in the Deir ez-Zor countryside since 27 August.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center said in a written statement: "Our forces have been fighting against mercenaries who want to cause chaos in the region and incite people to fight against each other since 27 August, when we launched the 'Security Reinforcement Operation' in Deir ez-Zor and the east of the Euphrates. Our forces have frustrated all initiatives that threatened regional stability."

The statement underlined that the main role in defeating these kinds of disruption  attempts by ISIS cells is played by the sensitivity of the people of the region and the loyalty of the leaders of society, who declared their national stance from the beginning.

The SDF continued: "Our main source of strength against mercenaries in the operation was the heroic resistance of our fighters. Our local people came together around our fighters, who defeated foreign plans far from Syrian patriotism, by resisting on the basis of belief in justice and the legitimate right to protect their own society and region, and did their best to make the operation successful. In response to this stance taken by the people, our fighters sacrificed their lives to protect the regions where they were born."

The statement added: "11 of our fighters joined the caravan of martyrs in the war against the mercenaries who sought to bring chaos in the region."

The SDF expressed its condolences to the families of the martyrs, and added that they will follow in the path of the martyrs.

The SDF underlined that they will protect the interests of the people and that they will defeat the attempts of those who try to disrupt the security of the region and cause discord and sectarian conflicts.
