SDF prevents attempted occupation in a village of Ain Issa

The Syrian Democratic Forces have once again foiled an attempted occupation of the invaders in Ain Issa.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) prevented an attempted occupation in Ain Issa on Friday night. The target of the Turkish army and allied jihadists was the village of Sêgiro (Sukairo) south of Ain Issa. This was the second large-scale attack by the occupation forces on the village within a few days.

According to SDF, the wave of attacks started late in the evening. The fighters of the multi-ethnic military alliance responded on the basis of legitimate self-defence and successfully repelled the occupation attempt. Several mercenaries were injured in the course of the fighting and the remaining Islamists evaded the clashes by fleeing.

Fighting had broken out in front of Sêgiro on Monday evening after a larger contingent of Turkish-backed mercenaries had tried to advance into the village. The fighting led to heavy casualties on the side of the attackers, who had to leave behind the bodies of those killed as they retreated. Artillery fire then began to hit the village. Apparently, the bodies of killed mercenaries were to be recovered under fire.
