Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) rejected Amnesty International’s claims that their forces bombed civilians in Azaz in Northern Syria.
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Law Office released a statement over a report by Amnesty International which claimed that SDF units bombed residential areas in Azaz.
In the statement SDF rejected AI’s claims and said “All accusations against our forces are false. Our forces never targeted civilians and they never will. Amnesty International based its report on a statement of a journalist and that journalist only talks about the possibility that the missiles may be fired from Afrin. This statement cannot be accepted as a proof to the accusations that the missiles were fired by our forces.”
The statement also cited SDF spokesperson Redur Xelil calling on Amnesty to support its claims with objective and legal documents and stop preparing reports which makes propaganda for Turkish state’s barbaric attacks.
SDF urged Amnesty to not evaluate SDF fighters who are struggling to defend their land, on the same level with gangs supported by Turkey.
“Our forces will prove anytime that they never target civilians” SDF underlined.
