The SDF General Command issued a statement about the drone attack on a vehicle in the village of Melesibat in Qamishlo. The attack, on Wednesday night, was carried out by the Turkish state.
The SDF statement is as follows:
“On Wednesday at 5.10 pm, when two of our fighters were returning from their leave in a civilian vehicle, they were targeted by an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle belonging to the invading Turkish army in the village of Melesibat in Qamishlo. As a result of this attack, our fighters Dijwar Kobanê and Çiya Qamishlo were killed. A citizen named Edip Yusif was also killed in the attack.
The invading Turkish army has recently increased its cross-border attacks. It targets the region with both bombardment and drone attacks every day. In these attacks, not only fighters but also our civilian population are targeted. We will respond to these attacks by exercising our right to self-defense and we will avenge our martyrs.”
