SDF thwarts attacks by occupation forces on Tishrin Dam and Qereqozak Bridge

The Turkish army and allied mercenaries continue their attacks on North-East Syria, facing resistance from the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest operations carried out by the SDF and attacks by the occupation forces in North-East Syria.

The SDF statement on Thursday includes the following:

“Yesterday, Wednesday, Turkish occupation warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the vicinity of Tishrin (Tishreen) Dam. The attacks specifically hit workers’ housing buildings of the dam, as well as the village of Qashlah located near the dam. Simultaneously, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries launched heavy artillery bombardments on areas surrounding the dam, starting late Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday, causing significant material damage.

Under the cover of intense aerial and artillery shelling, Turkish occupation mercenaries attempted an attack on one of our military positions. However, our fighters successfully repelled the attack, leading to fierce clashes that resulted in multiple casualties among the mercenaries. In response to the attack, our Martyr Haroun Units destroyed an armored BMB vehicle and damaged another Toyota-type military vehicle.

On the Qereqozak Bridge front, Turkish warplanes conducted multiple airstrikes on the villages of Ghasq and Al-Tina, damaging civilian properties. Additionally, the villages of Al-Tina, Ja’da, Bir Hisso, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and Al-San’a, along with the Sayfi Hill and Qereqozak Hill, were indiscriminately bombarded with heavy artillery, rocket launchers, tanks, and mortar shells. More than 120 shells struck these areas, causing extensive material destruction to homes and civilian properties.

By midday, under the cover of continued artillery and aerial bombardment, Turkish occupation mercenaries launched another attack on one of our positions. However, our forces successfully thwarted the attack, engaging in intense clashes that resulted in several mercenaries being eliminated and wounded, while the remaining mercenaries fled the area.

Meanwhile, Turkish occupation UCAVs conducted continuous reconnaissance flights over the city of Deir Hafer and its countryside throughout the day.”
