As part of an agreement between the YPG and the Syrian army, another group of popular protection units has arrived in Afrin.
Another group of "Popular Protection Units" under the Syrian military moved into Afrin on Wednesday after the deployment of the first group yesterday as part of an agreement between the YPG and the Syrian army. The first group was immediately attacked by the Turkish Air Force during the deployment. Two soldiers died, three others were injured near the village of Dêrjimêl as a result.
Turkish president Erdoğan claimed that the group had retreated after the attack by the Turkish military. Syrian forces issued a statement today at the Afrin front and denied this claim.
The YPG and the Popular Protection Units will jointly resist the invasion by the Turkish state in accordance with the military agreement between the two sides.
