Seven martyrs of the ‘Battle of Honor’ laid to rest in Derik

Farewell to the martyrs of resistance against Turkish invasion of North and East Syria.

People of Derik bid farewell to fighters Memdûh Herdewem (Restem Zêrikî), Rewşen Osman (Sorxwîn Zagros), Îbrahîm Mewlûd (Mezlûm Dogan), Hacî Akac (Şems El-Dîn Xanê), Emşa Nezfê (Lorîn Dirbêsiyê), Murad Qergêstan (Arkêş Mordem) and Borak Cekin who fell in the ‘Battle of Honor’ in Serêkaniyê.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of Martyr Hogir Hospital to join the funeral procession to Martyr Xebat Cemetery of Martyrs.

Speaking at the funeral, one of the YPG commanders in Derik, Mehyedîn Xêrika, highlighted that the heroes who fought a sacrificing battle have mounted historic resistance against the Turkish state and their mercenaries that seek to annihilate the achievements made in the region. The YPG Commander vowed to follow in the footsteps of martyrs.

Following speeches, the seven martyrs of resistance against Turkish invasion were laid to rest with slogans.
