In its New Year message, the Council of Shehba Canton celebrated the people of Shehba and all the Syrian peoples.

The message reads: “The Canton of Shehba wants to wish a happy new year to all the Syrian peoples. Our hope for 2019 is the end of the tragedy lived by the Syrian people, and peace.”

After 7 years of destruction and war, said the message, “for the new year, we hope that a political solution is reached and the suffering of the Syrian peoples will come to an end. We also wish that all displaced people could finally be able to return to their lands, occupied.”

The message also had wishes for the “Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which protect the values of humanity against terrorism and for those mothers and families who have sacrificed their children for humanity.”
