A commander in the Iraqi Hezbollah was killed and his escort was injured in an attack carried out by a drone on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that a commander in the Iraqi Hezbollah was killed and his escort was injured in an attack carried out by a drone believed to be Israeli, targeting his car on the road to Damascus international airport.

The car was seen catching fire at 05:00 am, while ambulances hurried to the site of the car, which is located a few kilometres away from Sayeda Zeinab area, said SOHR, noting that the targeted commander had military headquarters and a rest house in the region.

SOHR stated that the attack was carried out by an accurate missile.

“The area, where the commander was attacked, hosts several military headquarters belonging to the Iraqi, Lebanese and Syrian Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias which dominate several farms in the region, where members and commanders of those formations move comfortably away from regime security services.”
