Turkish forces have brought in new column to their positions in “de-escalation zone” in Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has monitored the entry of 20 Turkish vehicles into Syrian territory, loaded with military and logistical equipment via Kafr Losin border crossing with the Iskenderun region, north of Idlib. The column headed to observation posts deployed in the “de-escalation zone.”
According to SOHR, the number of military vehicles entered Syrian territory since the start of the new ceasefire has reached 8,465 in addition to 10,000 Turkish soldiers.
From February 2 to date, the number of trucks and military vehicles that arrived in “de-escalation zone” has risen to more than 11,965, SOHR said. Accordingly, these were carrying tanks, personnel carriers, armoured vehicles and mobile bulletproof guard booths and military radars.
On the other hand, SOHR reported that regime forces renewed their rocket attacks on positions in the “de-escalation zone” in the early hours of the morning today. Accordingly, rocket-propelled grenades fired by regime forces targeted places in Safohin, Kansafra, Al-Fatira, Fleifel, Benin, the outskirts of al-Bara, al-Ruwayha and Majdalia, south and south-east of Idlib.
Meanwhile, the frontlines in Sahl al-Ghab have witnessed exchange of fire with heavy and medium machine guns between rebels and regime forces. No casualties have been reported.
