Avrin Mahsum and Şoreş Amude had been trapped among Turkish forces and their gangs in a wounded state 26 days ago. Their situation couldn’t be confirmed, so they had been declared martyred.
YPJ Afrin Command issued a written statement and announced that both of them have been rescued in a special operation.
The Command center issued the following statement:
“Our fighters have stood before the invaders with great sacrifice, labor, morale, rage and resistance for 34 days and every day they deliver heavy blows to the Turkish army, Al Nusra, ISIS and Al Qaeda gangs. In clashes on 27.01.2018, comrades Avrin and Şoreş were trapped among the enemy in a wounded position. For one week, the situation of either comrade could not be clarified and they were declared martyrs. But after 26 days, comrades Avrin Mahsum and Şoreş Amude have been rescued in a special operation by our forces. YPJ Press Center Member Avrin Mahsum and People’s Defense Units (YPG) fighter Comrade Şoreş are alive and are with our units.”

As the Afrin Command, we apologize to their families for declaring Heval Avrin Mahsum and Heval Şoreş Amude martyrs.”
