Due to the coronavirus threat in northern and eastern Syria, all educational institutions have been closed and an online education system was rapidly introduced to prevent students from being deprived of their education right.

Students showed great interest in the education given at primary, secondary and high school levels. Students and parents who followed the online training on Rojava TV expressed their satisfaction with the system.

6th grade student named Ronak Ferhan told ANHA that the training given online is very useful. Ferhan only complained about the power cuts which make things a bit more difficult but added that the system is otherwise working well.

4th grade student Riweyda Ferhan said that they are very satisfied with online education. Like Ronak, Riweyda said that power cuts causaed some problems. "Sometimes if I miss the class I asked my father or brothers."

Heyfa Semo, mother of Ronak and Riweyda, said she was pleased with the lessons being given online and added: "Our children learn their mother tongue thanks to the lessons given online."

On the other hand, Binlind Şikirî, a refugee from Serêkaniyê said: "Before the invasion carried out by the Turkish state, I was studying at the Sherqiya school in Serêkaniyê. Schools are now closed because of coronavirus. Yet no difficulty prevents us from studying. We continue our education online."

Upon complaints from power cuts, the Education and Training Committee announced that the classes will be repeated.
