Syriac Women Protection Forces complete military training

The Ishtar Academy held a five-day military training course, named for Martyr Kerllos, in the village of Tal Najmah in the Khabur Valley on 20 May.

The Ishtar Academy concluded a military training course for the Beth Nahrin Women Protection Forces (HSNB) on Monday. The course included lessons on various types of weapons and discussed the role of Syriac women in society and on the battlefield.

According to the Syriac Press, the Ishtar Academy held a five-day military training course, named for Martyr Kerllos, in the village of Tal Najmah in the Khabur Valley on 20 May. The course included lessons on the operation, functioning, and maintenance of various types of weapons, in addition to recreational lessons in archery. The role of Syriac women in the defense of their homeland and military strategy, tactics, and regulations were also taught throughout the course.

Several discussions about the life of Syriac woman before taking up arms alongside men and the ways in which the armed struggle has changed the life of women were a part of the weeks course schedule.

The participants of the course expressed their appreciation to their supervisors for their efforts to make women active members in the fight against extremism and empowering them to defend themselves and their communities.
