Syrian Democratic Council condemns the embargo on Sheikh Maqsoud

MSD Co-Chair Riyad Derar has condemned the silence towards the embargo imposed by the Damascus government on Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.
On his social media account, Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) Co-Chair Derar reacted to the Syrian government embargo on Sheikh Maqsoud (kr: Şêxmeqsûd) neighborhood of Aleppo.
“Şêxmeqsûd is the safest region in Syria with its real inhabitants,” Derar wrote.
“9 years ago, fascist mercenaries attacked the Şêxmeqsûd neighbourhood with artillery and chemical missiles. Today, officials of the dirty (Syrian) regime banned flour and fuel supply to the neighbourhood, enjoying a deafening silence of everyone,” Derar added.
The 4th Brigade of the Damascus government imposes an embargo on the Şêxmeqsûd and Eşrefiye districts of Aleppo. On March 13, it further aggravated the embargo by banning the bread and flour supply to both neighbourhoods where 200,000 people live.
Damascus government forces and Turkey-backed mercenaries attacked the neighbourhoods in question from 2012 to 2016.
In 2016, Turkey-backed mercenaries attacked the neighbourhood three times with chemical weapons. They carried out the first chemical attack on March 8, the second on April 7 and the last one on April 8.
